The poetry of light.

The entry below street level is shielded by a mature eucalyptus, and is so private that one might not consider how open and airy this structure really is. Once inside half a level up leads into the master suite, which looks down upon the striking two story living space below. There you are bathed in light from the south facing atrium deep below the street, as well as the impressive wall of windows that open up to treetop and mountain views beyond. A secret door near the kitchen leads you into an art space which is illuminated by sunshine in the early morning hours of summer, and offers further unobstructed views of the outdoors.

Designed by Miller Yee Fong in 1967, a USC trained Architect and creator of the "Lotus Chair”, currently at the permanent collection at LACMA, this Garvanza beauty was his personal residence until 1977. It was sold off market to the current owners who appreciated and preserved it over the last 45 years.
